MOHAMAD AZRIN BIN ZUBIR

Dr. Azrin Zubir began his career in medicine in 1998 and holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology. With over 25 years of experience in digital health, he has been instrumental in shaping Malaysia’s health IT landscape.
He has led and contributed to numerous national digital health initiatives, including the Lifetime Health Record blueprint, Hospital Information System (HIS), TPC-OHCIS, Pharmacy Information System, and the Casemix (DRG) program. Notably, he led the development of the Blood Bank Information System which was the first cloud-native system implemented in the Ministry of Health (KKM) as well as the Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform.
Dr. Azrin also played a key role in the adoption of international health informatics standards in Malaysia, including HL7 and SNOMED CT, in collaboration with Pusat Informatik Kesihatan.
His impact extends beyond Malaysia, with international projects involving system integrations in Indonesia and Australia, and consultancy work with the World Health Organization (WHO) for the development of Malaysia’s Environmental Health Information System blueprint.
He currently serves as the Chair of HL7 Malaysia and represents the country in the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN).

G Saravanan is the Group Chief Information Officer of Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara. He has been instrumental in implementing strategies for effective digital healthcare, including the “Housepital” care model, which envisions delivering care to patients’ homes without compromising on the quality of hospital services. Saravanan has emphasized the importance of digital healthcare transformation and the potential benefits of managing patients at home, highlighting the cost and comfort advantages. His efforts have contributed to significant improvements in patient care, cost reduction, and operational efficiency at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara. Saravanan’s work reflects a commitment to advancing digital healthcare and patient-centered care in the hospital setting

Ariff Azahar is a Medical Officer and Clinical Informatics professional with experience in health informatics, interoperability, and digital health solutions. He holds an MBBS and has served in both clinical and digitalization movement of healthcare.

He has served as a Subject Matter Expert for the Health Information Exchange (HIE) in Malaysia and as Product Manager for a Hospital Information System in Indonesia, where he oversaw multiple system integrations and interoperability initiatives. He currently serves as the Secretary pro tempore of HL7 Malaysia, driving national initiatives to strengthen healthcare data exchange and standards adoption.

Hanafiah Mohamad is an Occupational Therapist and healthcare technology consultant with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, public healthcare, and digital health. He holds a Master’s in Information Management (UiTM) and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Rehabilitation (OT) from the University of Teesside, UK.

He has led major Hospital Information System (HIS) projects across Malaysia, specializing in business process optimization and sustainable healthcare solutions. Hanafiah is a Life Member of Occupational Therapy Malaysia, a member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), and currently serves as the Protem Honorary Treasurer of HL7 Malaysia, supporting efforts to advance healthcare interoperability standards.
